Dealer, Institutional Commodities
Alec specialises in dealing Australian environmental products including renewable energy, carbon and electricity. He helps companies and institutions meet their obligations under both federal and state environmental schemes, and helps voluntary buyers fulfil their procurement requirements. He also helps wind farms, solar farms, solar installers and carbon farmers bring their carbon units and renewable energy certificates to market.
A key part of his role involves connecting buyers and sellers for mutually beneficial transactions, and this requires a sound understanding of each client’s interests over time. Alec enjoys building strong and trusted relationships with his clients, sharing market analysis and developing bespoke solutions to meet their needs.
Prior to joining Jarden, Alec was a senior analyst at Commonwealth Bank and ANZ. He also spent five years in London with Goldman Sachs and Lloyds TSB, and three years in Canada where he navigated the turbulent oil and gas market during the global financial crisis.
Alec has a BBus in applied finance from the University of Western Sydney. He lives near Sydney's Northern Beaches and likes to surf every chance he gets, as well as participating in tennis and yoga. He’s a member of the Palm Beach Surf Life Saving Club and a passionate snowboarder.
