Michael Peters
Head of Institutional Commodities
Michael formulates and implements Jarden’s Australian commodities strategy. He oversees the clearing and execution of listed products and OTC solutions in the Australian commodity markets, with a particular focus on energy, environmental and agricultural markets.
Originally from New Zealand, Michael moved to Sydney in 2016 to help establish Jarden in Australia (then OMF Markets). He relished the opportunity to start a business from scratch with like-minded colleagues and enjoys the challenge of continuing to grow the commodities business in Australia, where there is plenty of opportunity.
Michael is passionate about financial markets and he enjoys the dynamic nature of the trading environment. Prior to joining Jarden as a carbon and energy dealer in 2013, he worked with ANZ Bank and ABN AMRO
He was educated at King’s College in Auckland and holds a BCom in finance and economics from the University of Auckland. He also holds an RG-146 accreditation. In his free time, he’s a sports enthusiast who enjoys golf, tennis and water sports.
