Announcing Jarden commtrade, an Online Marketplace for Carbon and Renewables Trading
We are excited to announce the launch of Jarden commtrade (commtrade), one of Australia’s first online marketplaces for buying and selling carbon credits.
As we continue our focus on strengthening our research team, we’re pleased to share two new hires have been appointed to lead our new Resources sector coverage: Ben Lyons and Jon Bishop. Alongside Nik Burns, who heads our Oil & Gas research, this completes Jarden’s senior research team across the Energy and Resources sector.
Ben and Jon will be joining Jarden as co-heads of resources research in late June and both will be based in our Perth office, which we expect to open in the second half of this year.
We’re also pleased to announce that Kieren Chidgey, our head of Diversified Financials research, has been promoted to deputy head of research. Kieren has been instrumental in building out the Australian research team and strategy. This position recognises his contribution and our focus on executing our research 2.0 strategy, through industry leading product, alternative data and cross-sector collaboration.
These are significant appointments to our team and will help us achieve our goal of covering more than 240 stocks across Australia and New Zealand. We currently cover more than 200 stocks, including more than 135 in Australia, and are ranked top three across Australia and New Zealand by the number of stocks covered.
About Ben Lyons
Ben has more than 20 years' experience covering the Australian mining sector. He spent the past five years at Yarra Capital Management as a senior investment manager based in Melbourne, responsible for covering the resources and energy sectors across the ASX 300. Prior to Yarra, Ben was a Portfolio Manager at ATI Asset Management, and spent approximately eight years on the sell side with Macquarie and Citigroup. Ben is a well-known participant in Australian equity markets, respected for the depth and insightful nature of his research and his enduring relationships with leading company management teams.
About Jon Bishop
Jon has more than 25 years’ experience in mining and resources, including positions at BHP, Woodside Energy and most recently at EurozHartleys Ltd. Jon joined Euroz in late 2007 where he was initially employed as a mining analyst and then as a generalist resources analyst. He was appointed Executive Director of Euroz Securities in 2011 and Head of Department (Research) in 2016. Jon holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Western Australia majoring in Geology.
